PiPE-Private Investment in Public Equity
(non-borrowing, equity offering)
What does this mean?
A private investment fund comes in and gives cash to a publicly listed company in return for equity in the form of shares in their company. Publicly listed companies are the only ones that qualify for this program. This is not a private equity program.
This program provides an excellent alternative to those companies whose stock does not trade actively enough for our Securities Lending Program. This is a specialty for our fund and is handled as a passive investment. Despite potentially owning significant equity in the company, the fund will not demand board seats, managerial control or exert any activist type influence over what is already typically a well run company.
